I have entered a new season and with that a new career. I picked up my Why Homeschooling Matters blog binder today and thought about how much my life has changed since June. The Lord said to me, “Recommission.” (to give a new task, or assignment to) Homeschooling has been part of my life for over 13 years with homeschooling my daughter then working in the Homeschool niche. But as of this past June my season has changed. God told me over the summer, “Your voice has always been homeschooling but it will not be your voice in the future. ” I have come to realize that I’m now in that future voice. Little by little I’m feeling a distancing from the homeschool niche as I embark on the new. Today I was busily removing everything related to homeschooling from my binder to make room for a new blog that I’m presently building. In doing so I came across an article by Dr. Brian D. Ray, President of the National Home Education Research Institute (NHERI) titled Homeschooling Grows Up! (or PDF form) Those very words leaped off the page; validating what I have been feeling the Lord has been saying to me at this time. As of December this year Why Homeschooling Matters will not be available. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to share my journey with you.
When the state or federal government control the education of all of our children, they have the dangerous and illegitimate monopoly to control and influence the thought process of our citizens. Michael Badnarik
